Seasons at the Inn

Spring

Subtle signs of the oncoming season begin to show in delicate greens and pastels as the gardens come to life. Our peaceful stream, long silent, now rushes with the renewed energy of melting snow. Soon vibrant colors are everywhere as trees and flowers burst into full bloom…Vermont’s “second foliage season” should not be missed.

Summer

Long days of sunshine and outdoor activity in the lush green mountains of Vermont are punctuated by the vivid colors of our gardens. Each passing week heralds a new flower and a changing landscape. Try hiking, biking, or kayaking on Vermont’s back roads and waterways. Or just while away warm days sunning by our pool, or reading and napping in the shade near our babbling brook.

Fall

The tranquil days of summer become shorter and the hillsides begin to show their spectacular pallet of orange, yellow and red as the evenings grow cool. Meandering drives and long walks by the river are accented with falling leaves and the warm feel of sunshine on mellow afternoons. Soon the aroma of burning wood is in the air as people cozy up to the hearth in the evening twilight.

Winter

The air literally sparkles in the sun as snow flies in the breeze. The exhilarating feeling of crisp cold days is complemented by the welcome comfort of a warm cozy fire inside. The gardens sleep under their blanket of white, quiet under the clear star-filled skies at night. Snow ushers in the season of winter fun — sleigh rides, skiing, snowshoeing and tubing — all just a short drive from our front door.
