Pet Policy

With innkeepers who are dog owners themselves, The Four Columns Inn will be happy to accept well-mannered housebroken dogs in select accommodations, provided owners are conscientious and considerate of our policies. For the safety and general comfort of all our guests, we ask that you agree to the following simple rules:

At Reservation: When the reservation is made, guests must disclose that their pet will also be visiting. We charge a nightly pet fee of $25, which covers the additional time and effort needed to clean our accommodations after a pet visit. This fee applies for each pet, and there is a limit of two pets per room.

Room Availability: Due to health and allergy concerns, not all guest rooms are available for guests with pets. However our pet accessible accommodations include a choice of standard, deluxe, and suite accommodations, subject to availability. At the discretion of the innkeepers, certain holidays, weekends, or special event periods may be restricted from pets, so please check in advance for our availability.

Pet Responsibility Agreement: At check-in, guests with a pet will be asked to sign our Guest Pet Responsibility Agreement, which guarantees and authorizes credit card payment for any excessive cleaning or damage which may be caused by their pet, even if not discovered until after check-out.

Health Guidelines: Per Health Department guidelines, pets are not permitted in our common areas, including the lobby, parlor, tavern, dining room, or pool area. Further, inside your guest rooms we ask that your pets be kept off the beds and furniture, and sleep on the floor or in their travel kennels.

Common Areas: In consideration for other guests who may not be comfortable around dogs, pets must be kept on a leash at all times when outside your room or on the inn grounds. Pets may not be left unattended in guest rooms unless crated (kennel to be provided by the owner). Daily housekeeping may be interrupted if this guideline is not followed.

Aggressive Behavior: Pets must be under owner's control at all times, and should not disturb other guests with barking or aggressive behavior. We reserve the right to ask guests to make alternative arrangements for their pets at a local kennel, or else vacate the inn should the pet prove to be a problem.

Doggy Bags: When enjoying our grounds and hiking trails with your pets, we ask that you clean up after your pet with the bags provided at our front desk, and dispose of the doggy bags in the designated receptacles at the rear of the property. We appreciate your efforts to keep our gardens, grounds, and parking areas clean and free of pet debris.
